2017 Manufacturers Appreciation: Lakeville, MN

The 2017 Manufacturers Appreciation event, hosted by the City of Lakeville, on October 5, 2017, included a panel discussion addressing employment issues, followed by an after-hours style reception, including sponsors and vendors. This event was held in correlation with Manufacturing Week, typically during the first week of October, across the state of Minnesota.

State of MN.jpgThis year’s event was very well attended and was the first year that a panel discussion was included. Presenters from three diverse backgrounds spoke on the topic of workforce issues in our state. The three speakers included: Traci Tapani of Wyoming Machine, Miles Seppelt, of the City of Hutchinson, and Michael Slezak of Minnesota DEED. The event was organized by the City of Lakeville and Dave Olson, Lakeville’s Community and Economic Development, emceed the event.

Ms. Tapani is the co-President of Wyoming Machine and gave an excellent presentation on ways in which her company has successfully addressed staffing by thinking outside of the box. By sharing the stories of three of her employees, she illustrated unique staffing solutions for her manufacturing company which was an inspiration to other Minnesota manufacturing companies.

Students in Manufacturing.jpgMr. Seppelt, the Economic Development Director for the City of Hutchinson, presented an exciting program to encourage middle and high school students to explore manufacturing. By dispelling many myths about manufacturing, just as much for parents as students, Hutchinson schools have found a way to encourage students to consider the field of manufacturing as a great (and lucrative) career option through their “TigerPath Academy” initiative. This is truly inspiring and we strongly encourage you to take a look at this program which involves sponsorship opportunities by local manufacturers. This is an excellent model by a Minnesota community creating workforce solutions benefiting both employers and future employees.

The panel discussion concluded with a presentation by Mr. Slezak, who shared information with area manufacturers about the supports available from the Minnesota DEED office. There are many options available at this link to consider for your business, and Mr. Slezak encouraged the audience to reach out to their office for any help that might be needed.

In the event that you missed the presentation, the City of Lakeville has posted the slide decks from each of the manufacturing panel presentations on their website. By following this link, you will find an individual link to each of these presentations.

It is with gratitude that we attend this event each year. Having helped many of the attendees over our 30 years of service to our local community, this event allows us to connect with many of those businesses, as well as to meet our newest neighbors in Lakeville.

If there is anything our team can do in the next year to help you with your business, as your space needs change, please consider reaching out to our property solutions team. There is no project too small or too large – we are here to help in any way we can!

Wishing you & your team continued success,

2016 Lakeville Manufacturers Appreciation Reception

Our team had the honor of attending the 2016 Lakeville Manufacturers Appreciation Reception last evening at the Holiday Inn and Suites just off of County Road 70 and I-35 in beautiful Lakeville, Minnesota.

This is an annual event our entire team looks forward to each October, and this year was no exception. In fact, this year, the City of Lakeville staff worked very hard on an impressive video which summarized the history of the Airlake Industrial Park. The Airlake Industrial Park is our backyard and where we first started our business almost 30 years ago. Thus, this year’s focus on the history of the park is near and dear to our hearts.

In this video, you will learn about the history of Airlake Park and how it has grown to be the second largest industrial park in the state of Minnesota. Additionally, you will see some pictures of and commentary from our fearless leader, Jack Matasosky, which is sure to bring a smile to your face – we know it certainly did for our team!

Simply click on the image below to watch the video, “History of Airlake Industrial Park” created by the team at the City of Lakeville.

After viewing the video, you may also click on the following related links, which may be of interest to you:

As we attended last evening’s event, as with each year, we find ourselves grateful to serve our local community over the years and the opportunity this event affords our us and our community to thank all manufacturers and those who are a part of the industrial park (transporters and distributors, too!) for their very important role. We sincerely appreciate the opportunity to be a part of the success of our friends and neighbors in Lakeville, Minnesota!

Our team has been honored to be a part of the growth of the Airlake Industrial Park. Today, we continue to erect new buildings as the park continues to grow. And, our APPRO team is continually helping business owners alter their buildings to meet their ever changing needs through additions, expansions and remodels of their already existing spaces. Likewise, our CERRON team continues to help owners find new space in existing buildings within the park.

Whatever the space need, our team is available to help. If you find that your space needs have changed, we hope that you will consider working with our team.

Lakeville Manufacturers Appreciation Reception 2013

This Year’s Lakeville Manufacturers Appreciation Reception Was the Best!

Mayor Little & Adam K at Manufacturers Reception 2013 - photo by APPRO Development Mayor Matt Little and Adam Kienberger, Economic Development Specialist announce awards from the prize drawing

The APPRO and CERRON team had the opportunity to attend the annual Lakeville Manufacturers Appreciation Reception this year, and found it to be the best in many years (if not ever)! We sincerely appreciated the opportunity to connect with many of our local neighbors; some we have known for years, and some we met for the first time. Every time we attend the event, we learn something new and that is what makes it so much fun! The businesses in Lakeville are doing some amazing things.

This event is hosted by the City of Lakeville, and was sponsored by MN Energy Resources, Xcel Energy, Frontier and Dakota Electric. This invitation only event was held at the Holiday Inn in Lakeville, MN, just off of I-35 and Kenrick Avenue, on Tuesday, October 22, 2013. In attendance were City of Lakeville staff, City Council Members, Economic Development Commission members, and a diverse representation of the manfacturers & businesses in the Lakeville community. The event is held to celebrate Manufacturers Appreciation Week (October 20-26, 2013). According to the City of Lakeville’s website, “Lakeville has over 3,100 manufacturing jobs amongst 150 businesses. Thank you to all of our manufacturers for being a part of Lakeville’s business community!”

Just shy of 40 companies attended this event and engaged in some great networking and recognition of the manufacturers in our community. If you were considering attending and just didn’t have the opportunity, we urge you to try to make it out to next year’s event. Great reason, great food, great people – you can’t go wrong!

We are grateful to continue our 26th year as a part of this great Lakeville community! If you are Manufacturer in Minnesota and would like to discuss a possible project, give our team a call. We are happy to answer any questions you may have!

New Improvements Coming to Miracle League Field in Lakeville, Minnesota

Miracle Field Lakeville MNNew improvements coming to Miracle League Field in Lakeville, Minnesota. APPRO Development, Inc., has been thrilled to be involved in the construction of the Miracle Field in Lakeville, MN. It makes us even happier to see what a success the project and programs have been !

We are happy to say that the field will serve 10 teams and over 110 players this year !!

We are presently adding some ramp and access improvements to make it easier for players and spectators to get to the field. The new bleachers being installed will accommodate the cheering friends and families of the players!

Thanks to the subcontractors donating their time and dollars, the Lakeville Baseball Association, Brian Roseen and the Miracle Field Network for allowing us to help in a small way !

I only have to recall the first “exhibition game” played on one of the regular fields at King Park – to understand the relevance of this field . I was standing near the backstop watching one of the players bat and run the bases, and as he rounded third base – headed for home, it was impossible to miss the smile on his face and the joy he felt at that moment he scored his run. He ran up to the woman standing next to me and asked – “Mom – did I do good and will Dad be proud of me?” She said “oh yes Honey – you did great and Dad will be thrilled!”. The hair on my arms stood straight up. EVERY SINGLE CHILD deserves to feel the joy of moments like that. As a bonus – she told her Son they had to leave early, so they could go pick up Dad at the airport – turns out he was returning from his tour in Iraq !

It never ceases to amaze me that whenever you commit to a volunteer effort like this – the rewards of the involvement far exceed the energy put into it. The Lakeville Community embraced this project form day 1, and continues to support it. Over 500 volunteers help in facilitating this worthwhile program each year .

Please consider stopping by the Miracle Field at King Park, on Dodd Road – and cheer on the players, they are the most gracious and happy kids that ever played the game!

APPRO Development has been blessed to be one of the many groups/people helping Miracle Field and all they do to accomplish their mission of making the game of baseball accessible to all children. If you would also like to get involved, you may visit their website at Miracle League MN for more information.
